The renewal of the exhibition certification, by internationally recognized Bureau Veritas, confirms that FORUM remains true to its commitment to implementing sustainable practices in the design and organization of XENIA trade show. It demonstrates the importance that FORUM shows in reducing energy inputs, improving waste management associated with its activities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the President and CEO, Mr. Thanasis Panagoulias, stated: \u201cThe renewal of the certification confirms the systematic observance of the procedures at a practical and operational level, and is a validation for the high quality of the organization of\u202fthe exhibition\u202fthrough the strict application of the appropriate methods, both in planning and implementation, concerning the three dimensions of sustainability \u2013 economic, environmental and social\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

Also, according to the statement of the CFO – Executive Board Member & Sustainability Manager, Mr. Stratos Apostolakos: “The re-acquisition of ISO 20121:2012 for XENIA exhibition confirms that we have developed and implemented in the most systematic way, the monitoring, management and ultimately the reduction of environmental impacts related to it’s organization”.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

What is ISO 20121:2012?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]ISO 20121 is a management system standard that has been designed to help organizations in the events industry to improve the sustainability of their event related activities, products, and services.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is based on the earlier British Standard called \u2018BS 8901 Specification for a Sustainability Management System for Events\u2019 which was first developed in 2007. Due to the high-level interest in BS 8901, it was decided to create an international version of the standard to coincide with the London 2012 Olympics.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In simple terms, ISO 20121 describes the building blocks of a management system that will help any event related organisation to:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
